CA. Shivani Shah (B.Com(H), FCA) is a practicing Chartered Accountant having over fifteen years of experience in Indirect Taxation viz. Excise, Service Tax & Value Added Tax and Goods & Services Tax.

An erudite commentator she has been a speaker in more than 100 seminars held across the country on issues relating to Service Tax, VAT and Goods & Services Tax. She delivers regularly on tax issues for various bodies like The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, The Institute of Companies Secretaries of India, The Calcutta Chamber of Commerce, The Calcutta Electric Traders Association, Direct Tax Regional Training Institute, Association of National Stock Exchange Members of India and various other Chambers, Associations & Study Circles in India.

A prolific writer, she has contributed a large number of papers and articles on Tax Issues to various publications, including The Chartered Accountant Journal, Service Tax Today, Bombay Chartered Accountant’s Journal, Goods & Service Tax Today, Excise Law Times etc.

A National faculty for GST for ICAI, currently she is the empanelled member of the Indirect Tax Committee of the Bengal Chambers of Commerce & Industry and also the co-opted member of the Indirect Tax committee for the EIRC, ICAI.
Past and present co-chairperson for the Ladies Wing at ACAE, she was also the past co-opted member of the Womens’ Committee, EIRC, ICAI, and on the editorial Board of DTPA for Indirect Taxation.

Past and present member of the Taxation Committee of EIRC, ICAI and past Chairperson for the Indirect Tax committee for Views Exchange (Kolkata), she was on the empanelled member of the Career Counseling Body of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
